QUALCOMM Announces High-Speed HSDPA Solution to Drive Advanced Data Services for WCDMA

Posted at May 13, 2004 03:48 PM in BREW , J2ME .

QUALCOMM's MSM6280 chip will support data rates of 7.2 Mbps, QVGA graphics, 15 fps video telephony and recording , 30 fps playback, and 4.0 MP camera support.

The MSM6280 is primarily a GSM carrier chip, as it does not support straight CDMA. It does support both BREW and J2ME.

However, chips won't be sampling until the second half of 2005, so preparing applications now may be a little premature.
