Java Technology for the Wireless Industry (JTWI) will have a huge impact on Java applications, enabling them to have much greater functionality. Here we look at some of the capabilities we can expect to see in the next generation of Java for mobile phones. Beyond just greater functionality, it also gives J2ME greater consistency between handsets by mandating specific JSRs and mandating that if, say, a handset has access to multimedia features that it use JSR 135 and implement it in a specific way. |
