Specifically, it's available for Series 60 handsets. What is a spotcode? It's a code that the phone can use to send information back to the computer via bluetooth. The use is to turn the phone into an interface device to the computer. This reminds me a lot of the old VCRs that were programmed by a wand scanning bar codes and then transmitting them. This could allow for some very interesting and useful phone/desktop applications. In addition, it could certainly allow for some fun kiosk usages, as well. Or even ordering items at, say, a restaurant. The site has videos of the usage. The site has been slow, the Google cache link is here. |
