Verizon Wireless said today its subscribers have downloaded 70 million Get It Now applications since the service launched in September 2002. The vast majority of those applications have been downloaded in just the last year. Jim Straight, vice president of data and multimedia services, said there had been 8.5 million downloads a year ago. 70 million downloads is more than half of all QUALCOMM BREW downloads, giving Verizon more BREW share than the other 29 BREW operators in the world. This should be good news to those other 29, though, many of which only recently signed on. |
