Sun banks on Java's ubiquity

For the next few days, two dozen people in bright red wigs and tights will race around the streets of San Francisco pointing to cell phones, computers, PDAs and other electronic devices and telling people: Java runs on all of them. As Sun Microsystems opens its annual JavaOne software developer conference this year in San Francisco, the computer-maker plans several stunts to prove that the Java programming language is becoming ubiquitous.
