Motorola A630 Has QWERTY

Posted at July 1, 2004 09:55 AM in J2ME .
The A630 is the size of a typical mobile phone, but unlike most phones its hinge is on the side so that it opens up like a pager. Apparently recognizing the difficulty of using a T9 keypad for intensive text messaging, Motorola has used the rotated design to allow them to include a full QWERTY thumbboard with directional pad instead of just a number pad, making texting, email, and instant messaging easier. The exterior of the phone still includes a number pad for phone dialing, as well as a monochrome caller ID display.

It also is a J2ME phone and includes POP3, IMAP4, and IM support. It's camera is only VGA, but you end up with a HQVGA (that's half quarter vga) display in landscape mode, 220x176, which is unique, as well.
