New Symbian Benchmarking from Futuremark

Posted at July 8, 2004 07:44 AM in Symbian .
Futuremark has released a benchmark program for Symbian based smartphones. The program is called SPMark04 and it provides a comprehensive application for measuring and comparing performance and power consumption of mobile phones.

The benchmark has been developed in collaboration with key industry partners, including ATI Technologies, Bitboys, Imagination Technologies (PowerVR), Intel, Khronos Group, Neomagic, and NVIDIA under Futuremark's Benchmark Development Program for Smartphones.

SPMark04 includes computational performance and power consumption tests, in addition to 2D, 3D, and usage (?) tests. This will give people yet another data point with which to compare the handsets in the ever diversifying Symbian market. Now where's the BREW and J2ME version?
