Archos has a new media player availabled called the Gmini400. Unlike the AV400 series, this does not record video. But it can playback video and audio as well as viewing pictures.

However, and of greater interest to this group, is that fact that it supports the Mophun platform for games making it a new target for distribution (and money making).

This is an interesting move by Archos. It also makes me wonder about the guts of the new Gmini. The specs, right down to the display resolution, are surprisingly similar to a current cell phone (except for the drive and CF card reader). Could they, perhaps, be leveraging mass market items from the cell phone world?
