For those that liked to read their J2ME APIs at JavaLobboy, Sun has nixed this ability. Javalobby, an online community of Java developers, has removed from its new JDocs documentation Web site several vital Java APIs at the request of Java founder Sun Microsystems, an official with Javalobby said on Friday. I can understand them wanting to keep the docs as current as possible, but since you can also hold the docs locally, I fail to see how that actually helps. Sun cited business interests in requesting the removal of APIs including J2SE (Java 2 Platform Standard Edition), J2ME (Java 2 Platform Micro Edition), and J2EE (Java 2 Platform Enterprise Edition, according to Rick Ross, president of Javalobby. Also removed were JavaServer Faces and Java Media Framework, Ross said. |
