An item we missed a while ago is still quite interesting. Samsung will be shipping a handset with a 1.5GB microdrive, in addition to a large OLED screen and a megapixel camera. More on the growing popularity of J2ME... it seems that the reason has something to do with the pervasiveness of devices in the market. Sure, not all J2ME devices are used as such, but they could be and that seems to be the point. Something like, "Get the platform out there and people will come." Jabber ships its own client for the Jabber IM network. Among other platforms, it has Symbian, J2ME, and Pocket PC support. Yet another article that talks about J2ME and how its easiest to write for a low common denominator than customize for each and every handset. |
