This article by DevX talks about JSR 211. In the J2ME world, it is innovative in that it allows applications to register themselves as being content handlers for specific MIME types. In other words, an application could register itself as an html viewer by saying that it supports rendering of text/html. The article gives more specific details. This is something that has been available in BREW for quite some time. Any application can register itself as a handler for a specific MIME type. However, there has been little use of this to date from what we've seen. |
