Verizon Shipping new BREW handsets; V710 recalled

Posted at October 25, 2004 11:35 AM in BREW .

Verizon is now shipping the Audiovox CDM-8910, an upgrade to the CDM-8900 that has more memory and new plastics. In addition, they are shipping the LG VX6100 which is an upgrade to the VX6000, but now includes BREW 2.1.

On the other hand, the V710 has been recalled by Motorola. The reason is a mis-aligned camera. Reports of this problem have been flowing in since the phone shipped. The camera sensor is rotated by some 5-6 degrees. It is most noticable when used indoors where a lot of straight lines are around.
