QUALCOMM has updated their BREW numbers and it now shows over 200 million application downloads as of November 2004. These took place on over 40 million devices consisting of over 150 models from 27 manufacturers. There are now 24 countries where BREW service is available from 37 carriers. The only change from about a month ago was an increase in shipped devices by 2 million and an increaed in downloaded applications by 20 million. That represents a 10 percent increase in downloads in only one month, which is quite amazing considering BREW has been around three years now (KTF of South Korea launced BREW in November of 2001 after a couple of month trial). |
