Quake? On My Phone?

And no, I don't mean the vibrate feature. This game was extremely good for it's time. And if it's as good on my phone then I'll have to play it. Not sure if it'll be as spooky in the dark as the original.

But what's this about the "The first 3D-enabled mobile phones will hit the market this summer, with QUAKE Mobile available as an embedded game on the first of these handsets to be released by a Korean manufacturer in July." Huh? I have a 3D phone. It was one of the first three on Verizon. SonyEricsson and Nokia (N-Gage, anyone?) have had 3D handsets for even longer. What could they possibly be talking about? (Hopefully true 3D acceleration for ATI or NVIDIA. ;) )

Anyway, 3D on mobile phones is definitely going to be a big platform moving forward. It won't replace handheld game consoles like the Sony PSP or Nintendo Gameboy DS; instead, I think it will raise the bar on those platforms. Hopefully.
