"At BREW 2006, we look forward to more thought-provoking presentations to wow the wireless industry."
BREW 2006 Developer Awards
BREW publishers and developers are invited to submit their top BREW applications for consideration for the BREW 2006 Developer Awards by February 28, 2006. As part of the evaluation process developers must complete an online entry form and provide a demo of their application by the deadline. Finalists will be announced on the BREW 2006 Awards Web site on May 15, and winners will be revealed at the awards ceremony hosted during the BREW 2006 Conference, being held May 31- June 2 in San Diego.
"The BREW 2005 Awards program experienced a significant spike in both the total number of nominations and entries received internationally. We look forward to next year's program continuing to grow with the wireless industry benefiting from new initiatives and new BREW applications," said Lombardi.
In 2005, QUALCOMM introduced three new award categories which, due to popular demand, are being brought back for 2006: Best Ringtone Application, Best Up & Coming Application and the People's Choice Award. In addition, QUALCOMM will continue with its cornerstone categories: Best Business Application, Best Location-Based Service Application, Best Communications Application, Best Information Application, Best Entertainment Application and Best Game Application. Judging will be based on the following criteria; ease of use, originality, "cool" factor, features and "shows likelihood or evidence of commercial success."
