Opera Adds AJAX Support to Mobile Browser

ajax+opera.jpgThe Opera Platform is going to allow mobile phones and devices to have full AJAX support. This is great from a services, quick-to-market, and low cast application point of view. With this, you would be able to create your own applications that you can run on your phone and from your web browser without any more work than what it takes to do a JavaScript web site. This is great, especially when many phones don't allow you to load applications quickly, easily, or at all.

Using state-of-the-art Web technologies, Opera Platform(tm) is a powerful and flexible application framework for mobile phones. With Opera Platform(tm) you can quickly and affordably create advanced mobile Web applications that give users instant access to online resources such as news headlines, weather forecasts, e-mails, sports results, auction bidding status, or bus schedules. Opera Platform(tm) enables you to integrate the phone’s local applications with online content ranging from regular Web sites to advanced business support systems. Examples can include integrating the phone’s calendar, contact list and SMS/e-mail with your company’s CRM software or reporting systems.
