Mobile Video Could Be Huge

Cingular just launched mobile video.  This is a huge step forward in the US, with the top carriers now offering some form of mobile video.  In two cases, Sprint and Cingular, you have both downloadable clips and streaming stations (Verizon only has downloadable clips).

Apparently, 25% of US consumers do want mobile video, too.  There are 150 million subscribers on these three carriers, so 25% of those is a cool 37.5 million. That's no small market.

Mobile video makes carriers and operators become sort of like the cable media giants of the last decade. Will this be a new rev market for existing cable, or will those areas lose part of their markets like paper-news lost it to the internet news sites...
